We have developed a range of training packages to suit individual and organisational needs. Our packages can be generic (for a mix of participants from various sectors) or tailored to suit the particular health or community setting, including addressing cardiac health and smoking, for diabetes educators, hospital staff, general practitioners and practice nurses, physiotherapists, oral health professionals, pharmacy staff and for many other health care sectors.
We also have produced tailored packages for midwifery, maternal and child health, Aboriginal, the schools’ setting, mental health, defence and correctional settings.
Our training packages vary from two hours to half-a-day, through to our more extensive one to two days training in smoking cessation only. All our training can be tailored to suit the particular setting, time constraints and needs of staff attending – shorter sessions can also be delivered upon request.
Our two day smoking cessation training program provides participants with additional depth of information, including skills-based activities to confidently support their clients along their behaviour change journey. It provides the opportunity for participants to explore the themes and challenges their clients may face in greater depth with the support of group work, including motivational interviewing and mindfulness techniques.
