Learning Outcomes

At the end of this interactive one day training program, you will:

  • develop your understanding of personal and professional resilience
  • explore various resilience models and frameworks
  • build your resilience through the development and application of practical skills, tools and strategies
  • strengthen your ability to effectively manage challenging situations and stressful events
  • understand the brain’s natural negativity bias and the importance of self-talk and developing a growth mindset
  • use the professional resilience skills developed to enhance peer learning, engage and develop staff, as well as provide professional support to peers

The training includes many opportunities for reflection and review. Non-threatening group activities are incorporated throughout the day.

Who Should Attend

  • health, school and community professionals who would like to manage personal and professional challenges and setbacks by appropriately responding rather than simply reacting to upsetting situations and conversations
  • professionals previously trained in developing resiliency (as a refresher)
  • supervisors/managers who would like to role model resiliency, and wish to engage, support and enhance peer learning through professional development

Building staff’s resilience helps employees learn to better manage their emotions and to respond rather than react to upsetting situations and conversations. People who are resilient are able to manage setbacks and challenges and can overcome obstacles and barriers with a solutions’ focused and proactive outlook. They have increased self-awareness and are effectively able to identify the symptoms and sources of stress, as well as take action to address them.

About Your Facilitator

Stavroula Zandes, Director

Stavroula has a background in psychology and counselling, and worked with the Cancer Council Victoria (Quit Victoria) for 20 years in tobacco control. Her roles initially included Quitline telephone counsellor, and as a Quit Educator running seminars for smokers in the workplace and community setting.

During her time at the Cancer Council, she also managed and delivered Quit’s training programs to a range of health and community professionals across Australia. As a result, Stav has trained thousands of professionals from various sectors… Her relationships with these organisations and Educators, inspired her to establish ‘Health & Wellbeing Training Consultants’ to continue to provide education and training in an area that she is deeply passionate about – people’s health and wellbeing.
